O God, thou art my God; early will I seek
thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land,
where no water is;
Psalms 63:1
NEED
Here in the wilderness of Judah, David is
made aware of the wilderness condition in his soul. Out of this knowledge
come the seeking for God's divine provision, which alone can sustain the
soul of man in the "waste howling wilderness" of this world.
It is out of this awareness that David cries to God for that which his soul
needs and desires. "o god, thou art my god" is the desperate cry of David,
acknowledging God as his only hope!
We too in the awareness of our need must cry out to God with the same desperate
plea, that God is our only hope. Lord help to walk daily with the continual
awareness of our constant need of God to sustain us, not only in the bad times,
but in the good times as well!
